Summer in Hakuba

From Spring to Autumn, these are the perfect seasons to explored the many hiking trails on the Northern Alps surrounded by beautiful flowers and mountains. There are many activities available in the summer season for the family to enjoy such as white water rafting, canyoning, canoeing. After a morning of exhilarating water fun, have a picnic next to the crystal clear lakes. Night Firefly tours and hot air balloon rides are also very popular.

Autumn is a perfect time for activities such as paragliding and mountain biking to see autumn-coloured leaves and golden rice fields, the ever-changing scenery in the Hakuba countryside.

Trekking & Hiking

With an elevation of 3,000 m, the peaks of the Northern Alps mountain range draw hikers and climbers from all over the world. The Hakuba Valley is one of the 3 famous snow valleys of Japan and contains Japan's largest alpine flower garden. After a day of hiking, soak in the natural splendour of the mountains in the alpine hot springs, accessible only on foot. For beginner hikers, easy trails can be safely reached by ski lift, which run all summer long at some resorts. No matter what your age or skill level, everyone can enjoy the beauty of the Northern Alps throughout the whole year.

Farming experience

Experience harvesting first-hand with onsite activities such as picking tomatoes, corn, broccoli, spinach and blueberries. Planting and harvest rice is another unique experience to try your hand at!
